"Life is in the breath; he who half-breathes, half-lives" -Ancient Proverb
BREATHWORK, also known in YOGA as PRANAYAMA
Breathing is an essential part of life! The Yogi's believe we have a finite amount of breaths in our life, so it is beneficial to learn how to utilize our breath wisely. Breathwork strengthens our lungs, increases our energy, boosts our mood and reduces stress. When one is happy and calm, breathing is rhythmic. If one is disturbed with anxiety, fear and nervousness, the breathing may become irregular and interrupted. There is an intimate relationship between the breath and the mind. Prana is "breath" and Ayam means "to control". When we learn the practice of breathing properly, we can affect and control our metal activity and impact our lives in positive and healthy ways!

Breath, the mindful breath, the rhythm, out and in, the wave that washes through our days, creating space for stillness, sorrow, joy, or exaltation. Full, then empty, ebb and flow, breath accompanies each step into the unknown. In the breath, the soul finds an opportunity to speak. Images or intuition, poetry or wordless wisdom come and go - - - no effort but to breathe and listen. - Danna Faulds
