Yoga is a scientific system that combines yoga postures, relaxation, breathing, and meditation techniques with psychological, moral, and ethical principles. Through various combinations of practices determent by temperament and culture (personal preference) the yogi undergoes a complete and harmonious developement- physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Yoga is not a religion. No one is ever told he or she must follow an exact path by only practicing these postures or meditation in this particular way. The student is given suggestions but it is left to the individual to find a path that brings him or her harmony. Most people know that yoga originated in India, but no one knows exactly when. It has been practiced for thousands of years by people from all walks of life all over the world. Yoga has been proved to bring health to the body, increased vitality and calmness to the mind, and a greater sense of peace and harmony.

Yoga alleviates stress, aids in the healing of the body and the mind, and helps us reclaim our general sense of well being. This class combines warm-ups, basic yoga postures, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques to increase mobility and reduce stress.
Gentle Yoga is for students who prefer a less vigorous class and those experiencing illness, injury or chronic pain.
Yoga Etiquette * Refrain from eating approximately 2 hours before class (have a light snack if necessary) * Arrive 15 minutes early for your first class - this will give you time to sign in, familiarize yourself with the studio/center and meet your instructor * Please turn off all cell phones and other electronic devices before entering classroom * Please avoid wearing strong perfume/scents to class for people's sensitivities * Honor yourself and your body - work at your own level. Wear clothing that will allow you to move freely and comfortably * If you have to leave early, please let the instructor know before class * Fill out sign-in sheet before you leave ___________________________________________________ DID YOU KNOW???
